The Sotogrande International School

Sotogrande International School offers a high quality education based on the British education system. It offers a boarding school is for children between the age of 3 and 18 years.

SIS is committed to providing a secure, caring, challenging and stimulating learning environment that encourages excellence in all activities. SIS recently moved to a new, purpose-built, high-technology campus that encourages the development of skills required for the 21 st century.

The campus is designed to reflect the philosophy of collaborative learning that develops active, high-achieving, life-long learners, with an understanding and appreciation of the cultural diversity that surrounds them.

The school applies innovative teaching and learning strategies that prepare pupils for a technological, multicultural and global society. The Primary School is preparing for implementation of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme.

Secondary students follow a programme based on the best of international, English and Spanish curricula leading to IGCSE examinations in Year 11 and we offer the prestigious IB Diploma programme in Years 12-13. There is a diverse extra-curricular programme, with many activities making use of the wealth of nearby facilities.

SIS offers an excellent boarding environment for those who wish to take advantage of a residential experience, particularly IB students. The boarding house has all the facilities to make it a home and a place for serious study. Boarding adds an extra dimension to the usual school experience. The family atmosphere of the boarding houses is complemented by the hard-working periods of supervised homework.

Students enjoy boarding and learn independence and develop social skills whilst interacting with their friends and our caring boarding staff. The houseparents ensure that all the needs of the students are met in a special relationship that creates lasting bonds throughout their school career and beyond. Our boarding house really is a second home for our residential students.

SIS is a leading international school in the region. The school has been a member of the National Association of British Schools in Spain (NABSS) since 1983, an IB World school since 2000 and became a member of the Council of British Independent Schools in the European Community (COBISEC) in February 2003.

The school has undergone rapid growth in recent years with numbers rising to over 600 in September 2003. The school is truly international. The student body is about 50% British and 25% Spanish, with the remainder consisting of about 30 other nationalities.

Summer Camps at Sotogrande International School

The Sotogrande International Schools also organises summer camps. The best way to learn a language and sport. The courses are taught by recognized professionals from a forth night to one month. The camps are for day and boarding children from 3 to 14 years old.
